THE TEAM
Dirk Burrowes
CO-HOST
When Dirk is not building frigging lasers (really) he is in the shop working on one car project or another. Like so many other car nuts, Dirk began early. At 14, his father, gave him his first car project to keep him occupied. The trials of learning about and getting his first jalopy on the road developed into a lifelong automotive passion.
The entrepreneurial bug hit Dirk in his early twenties and with encouragement from his father he started his manufacturing business where he now designs and builds laser-based machine tools.
In his not so ample spare time, Dirk has restored more than 10 post and pre-war automobiles. As a self-made DIY car nut, Dirk has learned how to start and complete automotive projects while having fun and getting them done. So, when Dirk is not fending off the urge to start another project, he brings his love of all things automotive, to hosting Classic Drive Television and sharing his passion with you.

Richard Gonzales
CONTRIBUTOR
To say that muscle cars and rods are in Richard’s blood would be an understatement. In 1959, before Richard was even born his father was on the cover of Rod & Custom with his customized Studebaker Speedster, “The Yellow Pearl”. From the time Richard could walk he was in the shop helping his father so it’s no surprise that at 16 he had already rebuilt his first engine. Richard began his working career as an engineer with Digital Equipment Corporation before the entrepreneurial bug hit and he went on to create a range of successful ventures. In 2003 Richard founded New England Rod & Custom where he developed and built a range of custom rods and even consulted with the likes of George Barris the Custom King. Richard now brings his automotive passion and expertise as a regular contributor to Classic Drive Television.

Matt Doucette
VIDEOGRAPHER
By the age of three, Matt had fallen in love. He could name every year, make and model of his 183 matchbox cars. Alongside the development of his automotive passion, Matt started becoming involved with cameras. Beginning with his father’s HI-8 camcorder, then eventually graduating to high-end cinema cameras, Matt has become comfortable operating a diverse range of film equipment. Accompanying his mentality of “the tool is only as good as the craftsman”, Matt earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications Media: Film/Video, specializing in Cinematography and has since been developing his “visual storytelling” through narrative filmmaking, documentary, and reality television work. He currently produces one of the highest-rated outdoor shows in New England and has recently started to combine his love of cars with his passion for filmmaking.
